Jesse and John arrived in time for Friday night supper, and Ellen and Eric rolled in from Montreal at around 2 a.m.! Saturday provided more chances to socialize in the wonderful fall sunshine.

Ellen also managed to get Kate's hair coloured while Leah napped in the car.

Late in the afternoon, 'the girls' headed out for our spa rendezvous at Langdon Hall in Cambridge. As soon as we rolled up the drive, we knew we were in for a special treat!
We were escorted to our Stable Loft Suites by a Frodo lookalike who was promptly christened 'the stableboy.' Leah tested the beds for us...

When Jane, Laura, Nanna and Jessie arrived, there was still time before dinner for a whirlpool and steam room experience in the spa.

Afterwards, we put on our fancy clothes and headed in for our three-course dinner. The meal included various gourmet delights (duck, lobster, lamb, swordfish!), but the hit of the meal was the selection of chocolate desserts, which Jesse and Leah especially enjoyed!

Jane and Laura reflect our collective dismay at our discovery that we were paying $7.50 a bottle for water with our meal! This was one of our only causes for complaint in an otherwise wonderful experience at Langdon Hall.

Declining to pay the rather daunting prices charged by the spa for beauty treatments, we gathered in one suite and created our own spa, complete with facials, pedicures, manicures, and a few other special treatments we won't detail :) Leah also tested the extra-deep tub! What a fun time we had!
